National Heroes' Day 2024

Heroes' Day, which is celebrated every November 10, is an important moment to commemorate the struggle of the heroes who sacrificed for Indonesia's independence. On November 10, 1945, the Battle of Surabaya occurred which symbolized the resistance of the Indonesian people against the Allied forces who wanted to regain control of Indonesia after independence. This battle was led by Bung Tomo, with the strong spirit and determination of the fighters consisting of the people, youth, and warriors who were persistent in defending independence.

In 2024, the Heroes' Day commemoration takes the theme “The Spirit of Heroism for National Progress,” which invites all Indonesians to appreciate the values of heroism and apply them in everyday life. The values of courage, sacrifice, unity, and sincerity shown by heroes are an inspiration in overcoming the nation's various challenges.

Heroes' Day is not only a remembrance of the services of heroes, but also an invitation for the current generation to continue the struggle in the form of real contributions, for the progress and welfare of the nation.
