Abstract

Five of the seven expenditure groups experienced an increase in index, namely: housing, water, electricity, gas and fuel increased by 0.52 percent, the transportation, communication and financial services group rose by 0.38 percent, the clothing group increased by 0.23 percent, education, recreation and sports groups which rose by 0.08 percent, processed food, beverages, cigarettes and tobacco groups rose by 0.03 percent; while the health group experienced a decrease in index of -0.17 and the foodstuffs fell by -0.89 percent;

The dominant commodity contributing to inflation in October is housing rent, gasoline, milk for toddlers, coconuts and stoves.
