Consumer Tendency Index Quarter III-2018 and Estimation for Quarter IV-2018

Abstract

The Banten Consumer Tendency Index (CTI)in Quarter III-2018 was 108.55, meaning that the economic conditions of consumers increased or were better than the previous quarter. However, the level of confidence or optimism of consumers declined compared to Quarter II-2018 (CTI of 128.34).

Improving the economic condition of consumers in Quarter III-2018 is driven by improvements in all forming variables, namely rising household income, low influence of inflation on consumption levels and increasing consumption of food ingredients, processed food in restaurants / restaurants and not food.
The Banten Consumer Tendency Index in Quarter IV-2018 is estimated at 108.38. This means that the economic conditions of consumers in the coming quarter are expected to increase. However, the level of consumer optimism is expected to decline compared to Quarter III-2018 (ITK of 108.55).
Improvement of consumer economic conditions in the fourth quarter of 2018, is expected to occur due to an increase in household income, which is reinforced by the increase in plans to purchase durable goods, recreation and parties / celebrations by consumers.
