Banten Economy Quarter I-2020 Grew 3.09 Percent

Abstract

Banten's economy based on the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) based on current prices in the first quarter of 2020 reached Rp 165.67 trillion and at the base of constant prices in 2010 reached Rp 114.34 trillion.
The economy of Banten in the first quarter of 2020 compared to the first quarter of 2019 grew 3.09 percent (y-on-y), slowing compared to the achievements of the first quarter of 2019 of 5.45 percent. In terms of production, the highest growth was achieved by the Information and Communication Business Field at 8.70 percent. In terms of expenditure achieved by the Household Consumption Component which grew 4.19 percent.
Banten economy in the first quarter of 2020 compared to the previous quarter contracted by 3.01 percent (q-to-q). From the production side, the decline was caused by a contraction that occurred in several business fields. Meanwhile in terms of expenditure, the decline was caused by a contraction in almost all expenditure components except Household Consumption and the Total Net Export Component.
The economic structure of the Province of Java in the first quarter of 2020 was still dominated by DKI Jakarta Province which contributed 30.61 percent to the Gross Regional Domestic Product of Java, followed by East Java Province by 24.49 percent, West Java Province by 22.20 percent. Meanwhile, Banten Province contributed 6.93 percent.
