Abstract

Cilegon City's economy in 2020 fell 0.88 percent, compared to the 2019 achievement which grew by 5.32 percent. The economy of Cilegon City in 2020 as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (PDRB) at the current price reaches 103.18 trillion rupiah and the GDP per capita reaches 233.02 million rupiah.

In terms of production or business fields, the highest growth was achieved by the Information and Communication Business Field, amounting to 9.04 percent. The deepest source of negative growth came from the Wholesale and Retail Trade, Car and Motorcycle Repair Business Fields amounting to negative 0.48 percent. The economic structure of Cilegon City is dominated by Processing Industry Business Fields amounting to 55.05 percent.
From the expenditure side, the deepest growth contraction occurred in the consumption component of non-profit institutions by 6.03 percent. The deepest source of negative growth came from 0.48 percent net exports. The economic structure of Cilegon City is dominated by the Gross Fixed Capital Formation (PMTB) component of 43.79 percent.
The economic structure of Banten Province is still dominated by Tangerang City which contributed 22.78 percent to the PDRB of Banten Province, followed by Tangerang Regency at 21.54 percent. Meanwhile, Cilegon City became the third largest city with a contribution of 16.34 percent to the PDRB of Banten Province.
